Room Check

Room check time! For the past year, since I got back from my trip to Denmarkland, I’ve been kind of obsessed over creating a perfect workspace in my room. A lot of people are kind of against having a work setup in their bedroom or house, but I really like having everything set up in one area (and I don’t have many other options right now). I’ve also been reading the Selby a bunch lately and it inspired me to take some photos of my own workspace (although I don’t think it’s nearly as interesting as most of the stuff posted there). Anyway hit the jump to check out some photos of my room/work set up.

Alright so this is where all the super professional Gnarwhale blogging goes down from. I have a macbook pro as my one and only computer and have an external monitor for work looking at funny pictures on the internet when I’m at home. Above it I have a bit of fishing line that I can hang work in progress, drawings, photos, and little bits of inspiration. The mini shelf on the left of everything holds paper, pencils, pens, erasers, sketchbooks and random things. It keeps my desk free of stuff, because having a clean desk is the best thing in world.

Here’s the other wall that my desk sits on. The wall has some rules and stuff, as well as a big poster I got of international paper sizes. The poster isn’t actually very useful at all, but it looks cool. There’s also another mini shelf built into the house that has a stapler on it, and some tape. Yep. This wall also has a window that I open during the day and look at people walking by. It’s a basement room so I only really see peoples legs.

This is the wall opposite my desk. it has a lot of stuff. I got rid of my dresser in favour of this hacked ikea shelf thing that has all my clothes on it. There’s a bookshelf too that has a lot of stuff in it, mostly not books. There is also a poster on this wall that I made a couple years ago. Oh and yeah my bed, which is where I sleep.

This is the last wall. It really doesn’t have anything on it other than these picture frames above my bed. The frame on the left is a David Lang photo, and the one on the right is a Faile poster from an issue of King Brown Magazine. And yeah, that’s my room. I’m not sure if this is an interesting post for anyone but it was a really good way to procrastinate for an hour.
