So back in the day, Chris Duncan rode bmx. Then he switched to mountain bikes, designed the world’s ugliest frame specifically so he could turndown, got engaged to some chick who could backflip, broke off the engagement, got dumped by Gary Fisher, started doing children’s shows, and now he’s completely lost his mind. I seriously don’t understand how you go from chasing the bmx dream…
to getting paid to do super ugly tables in MTB and designing super ugly bikes…
…to doing kids’ shows…
…to going totally insane and trying to start an internet campaign for “Chris Duncan Clothing.”

Honestly it’d be kind of funny if it wasn’t so weird watching an old, washed up guy who can’t get a job in the industry anymore try SO hard to come off as not trying hard. Then again, maybe the joke is on me and he’ll end up being so over-ironic that it’ll be ironic, and he’ll make millions. Seriously, if someone can get me some CHRIS DUNCAN CLOTHING I’ll be really psyched.
Anyways, inspired by The Come Up’s phonecall with him, Mark Matthews called him too. Unfortunately there were some technical difficulties, but he did manage to get this….

I actually am so grateful for all of the attention that I’m getting I think that I’m finally being my self after all these years.

I’ll be turning 30 soon and I’m seriously going on 20. I got held back in life because of my MEGA super stardom in cycling.(AKA-I actually beat Nyquist fair & square a few times).

I now restore vintage road bikes & basic commuter bikes. It’s funny because I thought that I was over the industry(BURNT OUT) and after I worked in a few bike shops I realized how much that sucked. This is why I started http//:hooptybikes.com. I love what I do. I sell the vintage bikes to all the people in San Francisco and Oakland. The business seriously healed my brain to become healthy again….not to mention all the money I spent in therapy to clear my hard drive.
I want to take a moment and say thanks to gnarwhale for this story and definitely a BIG thanks and shout out to all my fans.
